121 Handgun Self-Defense Class
(Formerly Advanced Concealed Carry)
Congratulations, you have acquired your concealed carry permit or bought that defensive handgun and joined the ranks of thousands of other good citizens of Oklahoma who take personal defense seriously!  However, obtaining your concealed carry permit or just having a firearm is not the end of your training, it's just the beginning.  You will leave this Handgun Self-Defense class not only confident in the law, but also confident in your carry method and how to expertly deploy your weapon from that carry position, if need be.

Don't let your gun give you a false sense of security.  Having a firearm at hand may not be enough to save you in your most desperate hour without the training needed to use it in the most effective and efficient manner.  We will spend classroom and significant range time to give you the real world skills you need to be able to defend your life or that of your loved ones.
The life-saving topics in this coure will include, but are not limited to:

  • Criminal Assaults - The How, When, Where, and Why they occur
  • How to Prepare Using Training & Awareness
  • The Importance of Avoidance & De-escalation
  • When Is Deadly Force Justified?
  • How to Deal With the Aftermath of a Deadly Force Encounter
  • Managing Unkown Contacts and Challenging Attackers
  • Handgun Selection
  • Proper holster selection for individual circumstances and needs
  • Other equipment choices that could save your life
  • Open Hand (Weaponless) Defense

  • Malfunction Clearance
  • Shooting and Moving
  • Target Aquisition Drills
  • Point Shooting
  • Close Quarters and Extreme Close Quarters Shooting
  • One-Handed Shooting
  • Shooting from Non-Traditional Positions

  • Awareness & Confrontational Drills

This fast paced, 8-hour course will build and improve upon the foundation you received during your Self-Defense Act Licensing Course or other initial training in order to better prepare you to carry and, if needed, utilize your weapon.  Our instructors truly care about giving you life-saving skills and techniques that you can continue to build and rely upon in a dangerous world.

We prepare you both mentally and physically to fend off an attack using your handgun.  While shooting is a significant part of this course, we know that the majority of the fight actually takes place BEFORE the action starts.

That is why we devote a considerable amount of time to the classroom and in non-shooting drills.  We cover awareness and how to properly handle a confrontation so hopefully it will NOT come down to shooting.  We give you life-saving open-hand (weaponless) techniques that can buy you precious time to retrieve your firearm or escape.  Most importantly, we actually practice these skills so you will not be caught off-guard.

If you've ever asked yourself if you really are prepared to defend your life or that of your loved ones, this class will help you answer that question.

Cost of the course if $90.

In order to take this course, you must have a basic understanding of the operation of your handgun.  You need to be able to load, fire, and handle the handgun with some confidence.  While this class begins at a basic self-defense level, this is not about the basics of handgun shooting.  If you need basic operation, please enroll in our 101 Introduction to Handguns Class.
